Bosch Rotak 36 Rotary
The Bosch Rotak 36 is part of the best selling Rotak range from Bosch. The 36 in the name refers to the 36cm cutting blades.
Asssembling the Bosch Rotak 36
This mower is fairly simple to assemble - the grass box takes a little wiggling to get right but it should only take a few minutes to assemble the whole mower. It's extremely simple to use and doesn't weigh much - can be lifted up with one hand by most people very easily.
Well what about the actual cutting - well if you've ever laboured around your lawn with those pesky hovers that don't - you're in for a treat. The Bosch Rotak 36 almost feels like a vacuum cleaner as you cut the lawn it's a joy to use and requires very little force.
The Bosch Rotak 36 cuts extremely well and will leave your lawn with an excellent finish - it leave reasonable stripes although not as good as a cylinder mower. It's easily manouverable and the little comb things on the side of the mower allow you to cut pretty much up to the edge of your lawn. The grass collection seems pretty efficient the cuttings get sort of compressed although you will find you need to empty the collector a few times for an average lawn.
Bosch Rotak 36 drawbacks
So are there any problems with the Bosch Rotak 36 ? Can't say there is very much wrong with it - some poeple have reported clicking the grass collection box together is a little tricky. Only thing I find a bit annoying is the lever for varying the cutting length is not terribly well designed and is a bit fiddly to adjust but you don't tend to change it much anyway. The mower does feel bit plasticky so if you're used to a more solid feel of some petrol mowers this might be a bit worrying - I did read in one review about a motor burning out but a lot of these mowers have been sold and you're bound to get the odd problem. How long they last - have to just wait and see but they seem better put together than your average flymo in this proce bracket/
It certainly speeds up the job of cutting lawns - the Bosch Rotak 36 is probably fine for the small - average sized garden though might be worth considering the larger Bosch Rotak 40 if you want to do it quicker !
Amazon service was as usual was excellent - the price was the cheapest I could find and the Bosch Rotak 36 is delivered straight to your door - a real boon if you hate DIY shops like me.
