So is it hard to use a toner refill kit ? Well actually no it's extremely simple there is in fact one reason that we replace toner cartridges rather than refill them - it's because the printer manufacturers actively discourage it as they lose money.
If we pay £70+ for a new toner cartridge rather than buy a toner refill kit every time we run out of ink - they make huge profits - which is in fact what most of us do.
But the printer manufacturers operate recycling schemes ?
Don't be fooled by eco-friendly return schemes - sure it's better to recycle than throw your toner cartridge away- but the printer manufacturers could easily make the catridges refillable and allow you to refill your toner directly. They could easily do this yet there are two certain results
- They would lose money by not selling you a new cartridge.
- You would be able to run your printer much more cheaply
- Environmental impact would fall substantially
To manufacture a new laser toner cartridge in environmental costs takes about 1-2 litres of oil to produce. However really all the components in your toner cartridge are fine the only thing that is missing is ink - refill it with a toner refill kit and the printer would work normally. The benefits for refilling your toner cartridge are both financial and environmental - remember every time you reuse a toner cartridge you are saving the production and purchase of a new cartridge.
I really just want to save money - is it hard to use a toner refill kit?
Don't we all - replacement toner cartridges are extremely expensive - much more than just ink - you can up to 87% of the cost by refilling the cartridges yourself.
